Mobile Poker from PokerStars Available in Italy
PokerStars.com has released a poker product designed especially for mobile phones and other mobile devices. The new poker application has been released only in Italy for now, where there is a very high usage of mobile devices. The new mobile poker application from PokerStars is free for players to download, and can easily be found on the Apple iTunes site. Those who wish to play mobile poker for real money with this application will have to fulfill certain criteria before they can do so. In order to play at the new PokerStars mobile poker site, players need to be residents in Italy, and need to be able to supply the online poker site with a verifiable physical address. In order through the mobile portal, players first need to make sure to open a real money account with the online PokerStars site. After this, players can play on their mobile devices. Players also need to hold registered accounts with iTunes in order to be able to make use of the free download. It has taken PokerStars two years to develop this mobile poker application that gives players many poker options, such as playing in poker tournaments or simply playing poker cash games. PokerStars has also released other applications this year, the PokerStars Clock and the PokerStars TV application. PokerStars.it is very popular in Italy, and can boast numbers of tournament players that are higher than the numbers of players at its competitors. In fact, the Italian PokerStars website has the distinction of being the seventh most popular online poker site in the world. This month, PokerStars is offering an incredible prize pool on 18th December 2011 in its Sunday Million promotion. The buy-in to the tournament is $215, and the online poker tournament has a guaranteed prize pool of $10 million, with the first prize winner taking home $2 million of that.

Dealing with Sore Losers
Once in your poker playing life, youll come across one or more players that simply cant step to the beat of losing and winning. These people are those who probably think they should win simply because their opponents seemed to be winning the entire day, which is not a good excuse for losing badly in poker matches. Sometimes, these people are players of online poker who is relatively vulnerable to tilts and emotional overload. These people attitude can range from mildly annoying to downright nasty. Playing with these kinds of players is not a major issue in online poker. It is something poker sharks are actually waiting for to have players make a fool out of themselves and waste even more money on aggressive behavior. While you can very much take advantage of this emotional weakness in a live table, it pays to know what should be done when youre opponents emotional barometer go into overdrive. Take Advantage Live poker matches allows you to put all of your abilities to full use because it allows you to see, hear, and feel the way your opponents play the game (while possible, it is not recommended that you smell or taste your opponent). This is the main source of players frustration because, like we all know, some players are more adept in shuffling cards than in winning a dealt hand. This reaction is normal, but not all players can control it, and those who do have the upper hand in terms of winning in poker matches. You can exploit these weaknesses. You dont even have to provoke him to increase his anger. Emotional outbursts allow you more time to study your hand and more opportunities to study his behavior. Learn how he deals with a strong or a weak hand based on the way his body reacts to a dealt hand. If you have established the pattern and make considerably good choices of moves on the information that you have, you can own the player until he becomes conscious of what he has been doing, or until he ran out of chips to spend. Protect Yourself Sometimes, the emotional outburst become either disruptive or threatening steps are needed to be directed in response to it. While it is tempting to resolve the issue by shoving a closed fist into the perpetrators open mouth, it pays to let the dealer know about the commotion and seek help from him. He and the casino people can deal with unpleasant behavior better than a closed fist. For your part, remember how costly it is to tilt, so better keep your emotional bearings in check and let the casino people do its job.

Strategy with Kristy Podcast: Amanda Musumeci Discusses WSOP Main Event
October 06 2011, Kristy Arnett Related Articles A Hand from the WSOP Main Event with Phil Collins Slow Playing Queens with John Racener Strategy with Kristy Podcast: Ben Wilinofsky Discusses Short-Stack Strategy Related Tournaments Share It Tags WSOP, Poker Strategy, Tournament Strategy, PokerNews Podcast Print Amanda Musumeci, 27, has the poker world at her well-manicured fingertips. She gained most of her poker experience online but has had impressive live success, as well. Most notably, she finished 62nd this year in the World Series of Poker Main Event for $131,000, and fell just shy of claiming the Last Woman Standing title. In this weeks edition of Strategy with Kristy, Musumeci talks about her deep run and her most interesting tournament decisions. Here is a snippet from the interview: I got moved to Donnie Mizrachis table, and he was sitting in seat one. I was in seat nine. [Action] folded around to me in the small blind and I had him covered. I think he had 15 big blinds and was short-stacking for an hour or two. I just shoved king-jack into him when we were blind versus blind. He ended up waking up with pocket queens and held up there. That kind of chipped me down. When youre playing a tournament and youve got a short stack in the big blind, how wide is your shipping range if hes folding so often? In that spot, I dont think hell be calling off too lightly since he still has fold equity after going through the blinds. Well another thing to take into consideration to add to that is that Im a female. To him, Im unknown. I think at that point, I was relatively new to the table. Even after being at the table for an hour-and-a-half, in live poker, you just dont see that many hands. He didnt get to see much of my play. So, I think that his calling range may actually be a bit tighter than against some other opponents where he might call off a bit lighter knowing its correct. PokerStove is a really a great tool even with the age of online poker halted right now. It was a tool we used for online, but even when I go out and play live, Ill come home at the end of the day and use the PokerStove to see equity-versus-implied calling ranges. So in that spot, given all that, when has 15 big blinds, I have him covered, and it wont cripple my stack at all, Id shove four-five suited, nine-ten offsuit plus, any pair. So yeah, [Id shove] pretty wide. Because even when youre called which is like 10 to 15 percent of the time, youll still win like a third of the time, so you have to shove a ton no matter what. Infact, of the top 100 finishers, I think she was in the top 10 for those who had played the best. She has built up a great experience that she can use for next year.

Strategy with Kristy Podcast: Mike McDonald Talks Epic Poker League Win
October 20 2011, Kristy Arnett Related Articles Strategy with Kristy Podcast: Amanda Musumeci Discusses WSOP Main Event Strategy with Kristy Podcast: Olivier Busquet Discusses Tough Spots Strategy with Kristy Podcast Part 2 with Tommy Angelo Related Tournaments Related Players Share It Tags Epic Poker League, Erik Seidel, EPT, Michael McDonald, Poker Strategy, PokerNews Podcast Print Mike Timex McDonald is only 22 but has already accumulated more than $4 million in live and online tournament winnings. At 18, he became the youngest PokerStars European Poker Tour winner when he took down the EPT German Open for $1.4 million. Recently, he won the second Epic Poker League Main Event for $782,000. In this edition of Strategy with Kristy, McDonald discusses his EPL win and strategy at each stage of the tournament. Here is a snippet from the interview: What Im doing at the table, is pretty much, any hand I see where someone shows down a hand or plays a hand that I think is nonstandard, I try to think about what that means for their whole range, and also what strategies I can try and employ to exploit that. When I get to a final table, Ill kind of take that to the next level and be as precise as possible in my reads. What I actually did here [before the EPL final table] is, at final tables or any televised final table where they are updating every hand, Ill typically have a friend, usually a smaller stakes player, basically build a live HUD [heads-up display] for me. When you play online, you can have a HUD and know things like, this guy opens 80 percent of buttons or this guy opens 30 percent of buttons. Really, even within 70 or 100 hands, you can get a decent amount of information on players. So, Ill often get a friend of mine and just pay them $100 or something like that, to create a HUD of my final table to tell me whos doing what. Ill look at what stats stand out the most. The one thing they commented on was that Erik Seidel plays way more hands than anyone else did at the final table, which of course could be related to sample size. But the other thing was that he doesnt check-fold very often. He usually checked with the intention of not giving up on the flop, but instead to sometimes check-raise or check-call. What that means against a player like that is when he c-bets [continuation bets], hes substantially lighter than most people because with a lot of his top-pair, no-kicker or second-pair, good-kicker type hands, he will often just be check-calling or check-raising. Since we know he almost never check-folds, anytime he has air, hes always c-betting or at least more than most players would. A lot of players give him tons of respect and fold to his c-bets but realistically, if you want to perfectly take advantage a player like him, you really need to attack him when hes betting at pots. Its an extremely tough thing to do though, especially combined with the fact that Erik Seidel is a good hand reader. Hes extremely good at live poker, and hes probably going to be very good at guessing the times youre raising a gut shot or when youre raising a set. But, if you assume hes never going to soul read you, then what I posted on my blog is fairly accurate, but theres a very good chance that Erik Seidel will just soul-read you. Who will be the last man standing and take first place? Players earned their seats at the $6,000 Anniversary Freeroll by generating at least 60 Points during the month of September. Only players who opted-in to the 6 Year Anniversary promotion were eligible to receive seats at the celebratory freeroll. The top 200 players in the tournament will finish in the money, with first prize to receive $1,200. Second place will be awarded $624; 3rd place will receive $444; 4th place will receive $360; while 5th place will receive $300. Titan Poker staged a number of exciting promotions to mark 6 years of operation. During the month of September, players fought for their seats at the Heads-Up Championship, which culminated with “smoOook” from Germany claiming the title by defeating robetoblanco from Austria in the final match on October 2. The anniversary celebrations included Mystery Week benefits, announced to players each week during September, and the participation of Team Titan members Sam Trickett and Marvin Rettenmaier in cash game and tournament action.
